A premium new high-rise condominium community is on its way to Toronto’s popular Yonge-Eglinton corridor. Branded as Line 5 Condos, the project is a joint venture between two of the GTA’s most trusted developers, Reserve Properties and Westdale Properties. It is being designed by the renowned professionals at Graziani + Corazza Architects, which is widely recognized as one of Canada’s most accomplished design studios.

The two towers proposed for this condominium community are slated to reach maximum heights of 33 and 36 storeys, respectively.  Each tower will have its own podium at 6 and 8 storeys. Sources indicate that the high-rise towers will house a combined total of 701 condominium suites, though other published reports put the number of units at 990. Either way, demand is expected to be strong once these details are finalized, as the Yonge-Eglinton corridor continues to benefit from very high demand and above-average property appreciation rates.

At present, the developers have yet to release detailed information about the building materials and suite finishes, and only rudimentary architectural renderings have been published. The available information indicates the two towers will feature symmetrical designs defined by clean, strong horizontal and vertical lines, with generously sized balconies and terraces planned for a majority of units. At the lower levels, a multi-storey podium base will anchor the two high-rise tower elements, and insiders expect the podium to serve mixed-use functions with possible street-level retail facilities.

Multiple sources have reported that the Line 5 Condos at 117 Broadway Avenue  will also feature an expansive two-level underground parking garage, with 261 vehicle parking spots. Of these spaces, 212 will be reserved for the sole use of condominium residents, with a 49 available to visitors. A further 826 spots will be built for bicycles, including 740 bike spots for the long-term use of residents and 86 short-term spaces for community visitors.
